Summary
The CueCard iOS app stores prompt cards locally by default. Only when you enable iCloud Auto Sync is sync data stored in the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account; CueCard does not upload card content to servers operated by the developer. Exports, support email, and in-app purchases are handled as described below.
Data Collection
CueCard does not operate its own server for storing card content, and it does not sell or share your personal data. Information involved when you enable iCloud Auto Sync or send a support email is handled as described below.
Local Data
The prompt cards, groups, steps, talking points, image attachments you choose to add, tags, colors, completion state, scheduled starts, and history you create in the app are stored locally on your device by default. Images are selected through the iOS system photo picker, so CueCard does not request access to your full photo library. The app creates display and thumbnail copies with GPS and other unnecessary metadata removed.
To keep the main app, widget, and Live Activity showing the same current card, CueCard uses the iOS App Group container to share local data between the app and its extensions.
iCloud Auto Sync
iCloud Auto Sync is off by default and can be turned on or off at any time in CueCard Settings. When enabled, prompt cards, groups, steps, talking points, image attachments you choose to add, tags, colors, completion state, scheduled starts, and completion history are stored in your private iCloud database and synchronized between devices signed in to the same Apple Account with this feature enabled.
Sync is provided by Apple CloudKit. CueCard does not require a separate account or send card content to servers operated by the developer. Apple processes this data under its privacy policy and iCloud terms.
Turning the switch off stops future automatic uploads and downloads on that device without deleting data already stored in iCloud. CueCard Settings also provides an explicit Delete iCloud Copy action, which keeps data on the current device, deletes the CueCard cloud copy for the current Apple Account, and turns sync off. You can also manage app data using Apple's iCloud storage management features.
In-App Purchases
If you purchase CueCard Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. CueCard does not receive or store your payment method information, and your card content is not used for purchase validation.
Analytics and Advertising
CueCard does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.
Import and Export
Export occurs only when you choose the export action. The app then creates a CueCard backup file (.cuecardbackup) containing your card content and image attachments on your device, and you decide where to save, share, or delete that file.
Import reads only the backup file you actively select and merges the prompt cards in that file into your local data. Review the destination and recipient before sharing a backup because the file may contain private card content.
Support Email
When you choose to contact support by email, we receive the sender address, subject, message body, and any attachments you choose to include. We use that information to reply to you and investigate the issue you reported.
Please hide unrelated personal information in screenshots and do not include backup files or other sensitive content unless it is necessary for the support request.
Children's Privacy
CueCard does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Policy Updates
If CueCard later adds accounts, network services operated by the developer, analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
